Soft Sugar Cookies

1 cup powdered sugar

1 cup granulated sugar

1 cup butter, room temp.

1 cup vegetable oil

2 tsp. vanilla extract

2 eggs

5 cups flour

1 tsp. salt

1 tsp. baking soda

1 tsp. cream of tartar

Preheat oven to 350

In stand mixer combine sugars, butter, oil and vanilla and blend until light. Beat in eggs. Sift dry ingredients together and add to creamed mixture. Mix well.

Form dough into walnut size balls and place on a parchment lined baking sheet. With a flat bottom glass flatten each ball slightly. Dip glass in sugar for sugar topped cookies or use flour if frosting cookies.

Bake until edges just turn golden. Remove and cool on wire rack. Frost with favorite frosting if desired. Store in sealed containers.
