This one makes me think of my Grandma Fellers.

I just had to comment! I am so excited! I make this all the time! π My grandmother passed down the recipe and it’s pretty much the exact same as your recipe. Ya can’t beat a Texas Sheet Cake (we call it a Granny Cake lol) for a get together!
Everyone at my house LOVES it too; so quick and so delicious.
Yes ma’am! π I can’t wait to try out some of your recipes! I’m already drooling over All of your Raspberry Desserts. Raspberries + Chocolate Ganache = Perfection π
Thank you!! I’m partial to raspberries , lemon and chocolate. Ah heck I like anything pretty and sweet π

For some reason your pic is not working… but I am sure its gorgeous all your pics are! Color me jealous…lol
Thanks for letting me know about the picture. This is the second post that pictures have just evaporated. So weird. Check again; I just posted the picture back with the post. π
Yup I was right gorgeous as always, and now I have to make this one too π
Yay! I just started going through old posts and a lot of pic’s have disappeared. I’m now going through all the posts and fixing the missing pic’s.
Wow – that is Texas-sized. It looks beautiful. What is the size of the jelly roll pan?
Thank you. It is a jelly roll pan or half sheet pan will work as well.
Thanks! I just looked up the dimensions of a half sheet pan (18x13x1). I thought your pan looked a lot bigger than what I have, now I know it is. Mine is way too small. Since I live in Texas, and I can think of a lot of people who would like this cake, I might need to add a half sheet pan to my list of things to buy sometime. ha
You never can have too many baking pans π
From scratch? You rock!!!!
It is. Thank you π
Wow. ..a blast from the past. A good one! This was a favorite of mine 30 years ago, when my sister use to make it. So glad for the recipe.
I remember hers had a touch of cinnamon …which is easy option. Like Mexican chocolate. Either way…one can’t go wrong with chocolate π
β‘ thanks
Love the touch of cinnamon π Thank you!

π
Mmm-this looks yummy! I’m new to Texas, so I’ll have to try this recipe in honor of my new home. π
Excellent!! Enjoy π
That cake is MASSIVE. I’ve never heard of a Texas Sheet Cake… how do you fit that pan in your oven? Do you have an industrial sized one (in your one-butt-kitchen?!) or is the picture just a little deceptive in terms of the size? Either way… great job! You are going to have one very, very happy crowd! π
It’s a jellyroll pan size or half sheet pan. Fits in standard oven π
I used to make that same frosting as a child and lick the bowl clean! Nothing like a pound of powdered sugar to make it delicious!
Excellent!!
That looks Awesome! My Grandfather Karn would have loved it. He liked lots of frosting with a liitle cake. Thanks for liking Two New Recipes. I am going to follow your blog because I liked It. Keep on cooking! Emily

So awesomely homemade! Once you make your own frosting, you really never go back to the canned stuff (if you ever went there, of course!)
