Roasted Garlic
Freezing Roasted Garlic is so handy to have on hand.
ingredients
- Whole garlic cloves
- Olive oil
- Salt
- Pepper
directions
-
Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
-
Cut the tops off the whole garlic head so that the cloves are exposed. Place the heads of garlic on a piece of foil. Drizzle with olive oil and season with salt and pepper. Enclosed the heads of garlic in a foil envelope.
-
Bake for 1 hour or until the garlic is caramelized. Remove from oven and allow to cool. Freeze double wrapped. Use thawed from freezer as you would fresh roasted garlic.
I never thought about freezing. I’ll have to try that.

Hey Maggie, what do you use the roasted garlic for?
It’s fresh garlic season and I’m so tempted but I have no idea what to do with it after…
Cheers!

Use it where ever it is called for in a recipe. It’s perfect for those who have reactions/problems to strong raw garlic. I’m not one of those. It’s also like butter on toasted baguettes/bruschetta.
Thank you, i’ll definitely give it a try!

I also never thought to freeze it. What a great idea! Especially since there’s only so much I want to turn on my oven in the summer.
It’s so handy to have. Double bag it or your freezer will be all garlic

I love the freezing idea! Have been wanting to roast garlic, but not sure how to do it. Thanks
I’m so happy that you like it. You will love the convenience of having it in the freezer.
I had no idea that you could freeze roasted garlic. I just always did it the hard way and built in an hour into my cooking time when I needed it. Thanks!
You are so welcome:)
