1 cup rolled oats

1 cup flour

1/2 cup sugar

3/4 cup desiccated coconut

1/2 tsp. salt

2 tablespoon golden syrup

1/2 cup butter

1/2 tsp baking soda

1 tablespoon hot water

sanding sugar

Preheat oven to 325 degrees.

In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, salt, oats, and coconut. Set aside. In a saucepan, combine the butter and golden syrup. Melt the butter and syrup together. Mix the soda and water together and stir into the melted butter mixture. Pour over the top of the flour mixture and mix until dough forms. Using a small ice cream scoop, scoop out and form into balls. Roll in sanding sugar and place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake for 10 minutes or until golden.
